Hydraulic or mech. Cam?

If it is Mech., just follow the valve lash chart in the MP catalogue. If you have Hydraulic, it is easier. Put the cam on the base circle (point of no lift) for the valve you are adjusting, tighten the adjuster while turning the pushrod with your fingers, when you feel a slight resistance, you are now at "zero lash", turn the adjuster 1/2 to 3/4 turn more, this will give you ideal preload.

The best way to set lash if it is solid lifters is to set the intake valve when the exhaust is just starting to open, then turn the engine over and set the exhaust when the intake is just starting to close. This will asure you are on the base circle of lobe you are setting.
