Gearbox id
Can anyone help me to id a gearbox, it was purchased with a 360 of 75 vintage, the box is four speed manual with a 23 spline input shaft and direct drive top gear, but has no indication of year or type. I need to overhaul it but dont know what it is.
Casting numbers visable are C-95639-U and 12-29? Help Please Gary |

Look for a raised machined pad low on the passenger side of the main case. The numbers stamped there will identify it.
If it has no pad it's earlier than '68. |

thanks for that, all I have to do is find the machined area, but am sure there is not one, closer inspection required.
If not the box is almost as old as me. Thanks Gary |
