Question edelbrock performer rpm

what would be a good camshaft for an eddy performer rpm, topped off with a carter afb competition series 625cfm carb, for a 360 mild street build.

Default Cam Choice

I would use a mopar performance part number p4452761 .450/.455 lift 268/272 duration. My buddy has this cam with a 650 cfm eddy. and it runs great

Ethier cam would be excellent to use though your gear ratio and type of trans info would be really good to know. A slight bit more stall in the converter for a automatic trans would be good.

They give a better idle than most other cams with the same duration @ 050 because of shorter seat timing and a fast ramp.

Magnum Muscle, 268AH-10
Factory Replacement

from comp cams is a factory replacement for 340s looks like a good cam, would i need more cfm believe a 625 cfm would do well, any suggestions.

That is not a genuine 340 factory grind. That`s Comp`s version of a 340 "factory" grind. It will work well for you as well as the XE268. The XE will build more cyl. pressure than the 268AH. Not a bad thing for stock heads and stock compress. pistons.

The 625 will do fine for your intended use of the engine. You are giving up a little power though.

What crisser said.. both posts.... I agree. The amount of HP not gained by a larger carb is minimal and you'll never feel it. It would show at a drag strip. Though driveabilty would be a hair better with the smaller carb.

FYI, a stock carb on a stock HP 340 came from Mom Mopar with a AVS rated at 630 cfm as per Carter from there old techline.
They later switched to a T-Q.

9-1/4 w/3.21 gears and a 727

What car is this for.

Actually, a step down in size wouldn't be a bad choice ethier. Depends on cars weight.

Default performer rpm

I have a Performer RPM cam. Never installed. Somebody was interested but hasn't got back. This might be too much cam for what you want.
If you're considering it, pm me. Thanks.
