loosing heat
ive got a 2000 intrepid 2.7L , it seems like my heater is going south, When i put the heat on all the way it just comes out warm, usually its like a nuclear bomb. temp guage is normal, and i dont see any wet carpet or smell coolant. ive been told it could possibly be a heater valve , i guess some cars have a valve that controls how much coolant goes into the heater core... any ideas???

Up here in the "cold" belt, we always change the thermostat when heater output becomes an issue.
It works most of the time. As for a water valve, if you can find one under the hood, you may be able to watch it work, as you work the controls. On the other hand, it may not have one. A lot of newer cars simply use air blend combinations to get desired temperature, while the heater core is hot all the time. |
