The 318 has a great track record no doubt. What is he thinking about the 360's record. It's a small block just like the 318 with a larger bore and main bearings. Extrenal balance is the other only big thing. Durable?...Hell ya!

The newer the engine the better off he is as well as a lower mileage engine. For hop ups, the newer head would be better. You will not need the computer if you do a carb set up with a vac. distrib like those found in the MoPar catolog.
If you pirate a fuel injection engine and want to use the fuel injection, you'll need the computer. Theres not a lot off hop up parts for the early FI engines due to computer limitions.

PS I havn't seen a spell check in a long time. (I could really benifit from it.)

If he insists on a 318 have him look for a 67-68 truck block. I found one easily at a core supplier for $125.00 cleaned and pressure tested with a guarantee.

BTW....my 318 makes just over 400 HP and over 400 pound of tork and pushes my 3460 pound 66 Cuda to 12.50 at over 107 MPH.

Next year we'll run high 11's, after gutting the Fish down to 2900 lbs and adding another $5000.00 in drive line "Stuff"

Don't doubt the power of a 318 in the right hands
