Default Cone Sure Grip ID?

I've got a couple of Sure Grip units which are both cone type...

The logo here might help with one of them:

Marked 'Canada' and '1987' could also be a clue.

If anyone can help me to identify these I'd certainly appreciate the help.

The unit on the left is a factory cone-type, the one on the right is an Auburn Pro-Series differential.

Thanks, John...

Is there anything I should know about the differences between them?

My understanding is, and it could be wrong of course, that the Auburn units were made to the Borg-Warner patents or design philosophies or techniques. Are they at all inferior or superior?

they certainly dismantle differently.

Now we get to see the sure-grips so deftly snatched from our shores and spirited away to the underside of the world. I had visions of Ray on the boat dismantling and modifying the things.

Ahh... my good Massachusetts mate...

Just in case you thought I haven't have much success, here's a few I lined up the other day to compare them:

No, I didn't touch them on the boat, in fact all of these came here before I went over there. The Dana 60 unit on the left is for my ambulance I plan to turn into a camper.

I don't think they had the thrust block, intended to be used with Green axle bearings.

Thanks John...

The one I have doesn't have a thrust block, the reason for my question. I guess I'll work it out whether or not one can be fitted.

Ray,
You got me thinking about rear ends with those great pics. I haven't set one up since the early '70's and never touched a sure-grip or a posi. So, out of curiosity, I checked my fsm, in which it states firmly that one doesn't touch these things. How stupid do they think we are?

About as stupid as the Mazda 626 manual...

It tells you that a proper workshop is needed to dismantle and reassemble the front wheel bearings. And gives no clues on how they should do it!
