Default Intake manifolds

Got an Edelbrock rpm air gap intake on my 340. Finish is the regular aluminum. Also have the Performer RPM heads. The engine runs great but I also have a performer RPM manifold that is not an air gap but is chromed. Advance plating chromed it for me a while back. Will I notice a loss of power if I do this or not enough to worry about? The chrome would look good on this engine but hate to mess up the way its running now.

I'd call up edelbrock and ask them they could give you the flow numbers of both intakes and technical advice on whether it would make a difference and how.... and who knows depeding on cam/ compression and all you may actually gain a little

The Air Gap is a higher RPM manifold. If the 340 has a mild cam, the Performer will still work great.

Don't think you'll see too much difference. Still a great manifold.

Thanks for all the replies. Engine has a Hughes 1928 cam 489/524 lift 219/228 duration 111 LSA SRP pistons Eldebrock performer rpm heads. engine build sheet from machine shop shows 10.8 to 1 compression. Holley 700DP carb MSD 6AL ignition. The rpm performer air gap manifold works very good on the engine. The other manifold is also a a performer RPM but not an air gap. If I change it out it will probably be for looks and not performance. The air gap will be hard to beat I believe for performance, I just wanted to know what everyone's opinion was of the two manifolds. Thanks
