what 15" rims will fit a 98 dodge 4x4?
a good friend of mine is buying a set of 15" AR Outlaw 2 rims for his 98 Dodge 4x4, 1/2 ton. I told him that some 15" rims wont fit, but does anyone know if these will??
Thanks, Clay |

Wrong Bolt Pattern
Late Dodge 1/2 ton Ram trucks use a 5 on 5 1/2" Bolt pattern. This is common to 15" wheels used on early (real early) Mercury cars, some early Jeeps and also late Ford 1/2 tons and the Expeditions with the 16 and 17" wheels. I have seen a lot of ads on e-bay for Dodge van wheels, but, they all seem to be the 5 on 4 1/2" bolt pattern common to the muscle car era Fords, AMCs & Mopars.
In addition to all that, I think, a 15" wheel will cause clearance problems with the front disc brake calipers. I could be wrong there, but I think that downsizing the wheel diameter would not be a performance improvement, particularly for a 4X4. |

bolt pattern is not an issue. we are well aware of the correct bolt pattern.
that aside, what I am worried about is caliper clearance. I know for a fact that Centerline Hellcat 15" rims will work on dodge rams, because they are a forged rim, and have a larger ID. BUT Im worried about other 15" rims not fitting. So I guess what I want to know is will 15" outlaw II rims fit on a 98 dodge ram? Clay |

I thought that some of the aluminum rims are too thick causing clearance problems with the brake calipers. I know steel 15" rims fit.

ok, so aluminum in general. Guess we will just have to test fit them to find out!
