Default Smog Canister (fuel vapor storage canister)

I have a 74 Duster with a 225 1bbl and was wondering how the smog canister was hooked up, and if I can still get the charcoal filter for it.

When i pulled the vapor can out of my '75 duster there were 3 hoses, the biggest one and the smallest one attached to the carb (see pix) and the medum sized one attached to the metal line near the canister. As far as the charcoal, im not sure, but i would think its still available.

Default Emissions Or Not

I have a bone stock 74 Duster 225 Auto and look to spice it up.Is it possible to get rid of the canester and all the other stuff except the PCV? Like this stuff or not part of me says it was designed to run with it and taking it off would cause problems.Plan to upgrade a bit at a time....mild cam headers dual exhaust two sinlgle barrel carbs just looking for better gas milage and a bit more performance.

you can do without it. I'd keep the fuel return line hooked up to help avoid vapor lock though.
