stubborn as an old mule!
I'm having trouble with my /6 in cold starts every morning. The carb's ok, i can see the gas squirts as I pull back the throttle lever, the ballast resistor is new as well as the ignition coil, battery is new too. It works great once the weather warms up and I finally can get it to work, but it's the same by next morning: it just won't fire up no matter how long I crank it. Any ideas?

Uh, can't really tell, is it supossed to close all the way or just leave a slight opening when i turn the ignition? in this case, it just leaves a very slight opening. Any suggestions about timing or spark plug gap?
I'll appreciate any comments |

choke on /6
You are correct, just a slight opening, and i guess you are setting it before hitting the switch,,,,, right?

Right, so I assume that's the correct way for the choke to work. I think I hav solved the problem, I just advanced the time some degrees and re- gapped the spark plugs, it isn't so difficult to get it to work now. Spark plugs had .038.
