'60 to '64 is the same as '65?

Or maybe '65 doesn't have the B&T output?

can u blame him?
There are some differences between 64-65-up,
like having a rear pump in 64 & earlier [without tail shaft E brake].

The /6 in a pre-70 A body has about the same performance(and power and weight) as an Accord 4 or Camry 4, except for the fact the new cars have 5 speeds, which keeps the motor on the boil more. Driven carefully, a 4 door Dart/Valient /6 auto can get 20MPG in town and 22-24 Hiway, if you put a street Demon 2bbl on the "performance" intake manifold, you might do a little better, because the Demon atomises the swill we call gasoline better than the old Carter. The 225 won't match performance, dollar for dollar with a 318, not even a 273. All these engines are antiques. You need hardened vavle seats for unleaded gas, really need hardened valves, because an engine a 1/4 century old deserves a valve job, nothing you can't do, but it costs money and time and effort. A guy near my house has a green full sized Plymouth wagon with a slant 6(the front and rear ends are too beat up for me to tell what year it is, I've seen it with the hood open). It still goes, even though there may be dust on the bottom of the dipstick...he'd never check from the looks of things. The 225 was rated at 145 gross SAE HP, better than my 194 straight 6 ChevyII@120 with a PowerGlide(not the greatest power delivery..two-speed auto) you've probably got a TorqueFlite 3 speed, and a much better transmission for economy and performance. If you want real fuel economy, get a Toyota Corolla, doesn't matter auto or stick...you'll get 27-30 in-town and 45-49 hi-way I know. I drove a used one for a dealer to KC from Tulsa...48MPG at 70-75MPH(legal speed limit) auto, cruise and A/C on. But you can buy a dozen /6 Darts for the price of a good used Corolla.

Which tailshaft e-brake is that?

I think we're talking about a Dart, and no Darts ever had an e-brake on the transmission.

OHH don't worry were still talking about DARTS...
I said [with out the tailshaft E brake] so that [layman's] would not think I was confusing w/ the 1950's & early 60-61 trans, which along with a front & rear pump also had 'like' a drum E brake on the tail shaft/housing.
BTW Ever hear of a 61 DART PHOENIX?
You said no darts EVER had a tail E brake?
Ever hear of a power flight?
Or how about a cast iron torque flight?
But that was not where I was trying to go with this,
I was trying to inform you on what you had questioned valiant about which was ....
[guess what, there are differences].

60-64 904 transmission, are the same. Five position valve body, cable shifted, with push buttons, a rear pump, and a flanged output shaft for the B&T joint. Don't remember exactly which of those years did not have a filter inside the trans, but had a "inline" filter in the cooler line (64 did have the internal filter). 65 was the same as 64, except the valve body had 6 positions to accomadate the change to the columm cable shifter and the cable floor shifter. 66 did away with the rear pump, and the flanged output shaft, and the shifter setup changed to the lever/rod linkage, the speedo gear system also changed. So the 65 is basically a one year only trans, though the 65 can be converted to the 60-64 configuration, and the 60-64 can be converted to the 65.
