Aluminim 225
I recently purchased a 62 Valliant as salvage. It has the aluminum 225. Does anyone know if the motor is rare. Only thing I know is they used them in 62-63 Valliants and Lancers. Not sure how many were used. Any help would be appreciated,,,,thanks

Oh yeah I think you have something good there. E-mail me at rlkinsley@yahoo .com and I may have a guy who would buy it. I love the /6's too.

Those motors are extremely rare there wasn't that many of them produced and back in the day the antifreeze was corrosive to aluminum so many didn't make it.

Aluminum Slants are not incredibly rare, but ones that are worth a crap are.
They do take a special head gasket that is getting harder to find. |

It takes a special head as well as the gasket stated above. The head has the word special spelled out in the casting. Lots more info at slantsix.org. Sounds like a good find to me.

Hey guys,,,thanks for all the replys,,,I forgot I posted this. The body is a 4 dr. rusted, interior moused out and BUTT UGLY. Plan is to install a 400 HO from a old patrol car and have a street sleeper,,,maybe bracket car. Sounds like I will be able to market the "Leaning tower of power" for some funding for original project. Thank you all.
PS,,,cheno in mitchell,,,sure would buy ya cup a coffee fer commision,,,lol |

Yes, the original heads have 'special' cast in, but pretty much any head will work. The head gasket is the key.
