My ride is a green 72 swinger with a 225 904 combo. Original owner ordered it with air, HD radiator w/shroud, power disc brakes, front anti-sway bar, 83/4 open rear end, and HD leafsprings. It still has the original paint, top, and interior. Not perfect, but a very nice rust free 75,000 mile driver.

Whoa!!! its amazing that there are so many /6 A-bodies and not so many others, compared to the amount of /6 F-bodies and Trucks i have seen @ the yard.

It could be, because the typical A body enthusiast, is more liable to be logged onto to a website like this, or fixing up a slant. Most of the regular folks I've known that do own slant six F-bodies and trucks, just use them as everyday vehicles, and just consider them another appliance. The F-body and truck gearheads, usually have or are swapping in, a V8, and either of these vehicles, is kind of heavy for a slant, and ususally came with later model, lower compression versions. The B and E bodies are slim on the poll too, but I know they made quite a few of those with slant sixes as well.

Lightbulb A bodies take the win...

My Slant 6 is the heart of my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger. Soon to be replaced by a 340 or a 360 I haven't decided ( actually I haven't found one or have the money for it right now

Since everyone here has slant 6's I have a question for you fellas. I'm going to get a high performanced muffler and its the 40 series by flowmaster. Now what would a slant 6 sound like with that kind of muffler? Does anyone know where I can turn for sound clips I'm just curious.

my slant is in a 78 aspen 4dr sedan. creme/beige, whatever they call that pale yellow color with a brown top. florida car with minimal rust on back 1/4s (small spot on bottom, both sides)
this is the 4th slant the car has had , sooo far: .060 over, decked .145 69 block, .509" lift 248*/253* at .050 custom grind reed cam, clifford intake/edel 5004bbl, mp 6 into 1 header, 2-1/2" pipe/flowmaster 2 chamber. msd 6t, elect/mech fuel pumps, double roller timing, smith bros push rods, sbc 1.50 exh valves , stock intakes in ported/polished 65 head, new guides, seats, valves, 340 springs,
high volume oil pump, blended&deburred oiling system, uses only ACL bearings, custom built transmision specialties 2400 stall/3,000 flash convertor, 904 auto (one with low gear set/4clutch drums, one standard back up unit) tweaked valve body (holes, balls, springs, etc..) 8-1/4 3.21 suregrip rear. prolly more mods not listed, this is all i can think of rite now

I have a 1965 Plymouth Valiant wagon,Lenco 5 speed,4.86 rear end gears,3 Holley 350 two barrel carbs,big cam,dry sump and both the driver and car are on alochol. I have had the car for 25
years and raced it for the last 12. Best time to date are 12.12 @
108 mph. I'm trying hard to get in the 11's. New plans for the car
are fuel injection from Hilborn and a turbo some day.

Also have a 76 Duster with a slant six,2.45 rear end gears,904
auto and tall 15" tires. This is my work car, I have 100 miles per
day of all freeway driving. Not the fastest car but gets good mileage.

Default slant six vehicle

Tryed to post from work this morning but didn't seem to work....so i hope this isn't the third time i show up.

We have two slant sixes in vans. One is an 82 B150,
and the second is an 83 B150. Both with the OD tranny and 8 1/4 3.55 gears.

The 82 my son has at school and the 83 is my daily
driver. The biggest difference between the two is that the 83 has the 30 gallon gas tank and a trip odometer, also no power steering.

A 61 lancer ans a 74 dart are past sixes.

As a side note my brother built a 318 barracuda into a slant six car.He had a 4 barrel setup on it with 5.09 gears with headers...ran nice...i think he got 14 flats out of it still in street trim.

I have 1965 Valiant 2dr sedan with 225 and 4-speed. The engine has mildly ported head with 1.78"/1.50" valves, 10,0:1 compression, MP 268/.460 cam, ported supersix intake with 2bbl Holley from 360 and 6-2-1 headers wich I made myself. Rear axle is still original 7 1/4 with 2.76 but I am looking for a 8 1/4 with suregrip and 3.21.
This is my daily driver and it works great

My friend has a 1970 Challenger with 225+904. He has restored it about 2 years and it´s going to be "ready" for the next summer. Engine is stock exept 9:1 compression, little porting and supersix intake. It is painted to original Sublime green and has black vinyl top. That is a really good looking car with 15x7 magnum 500.

Default my dart appreciation

I have a 1969 dodge dart custom. All original and need a greatdeal of body work. I will have it resored in about two years. I am stationed at Ft. Campbell Ky. and find it very expensive to get my hoopty worked on. I never intended on keepin this car when I bought it in Kanas in 95. I drove it from Kanas to florida without a problem. My daughter drove it her seior of high school when I was Korea. I drive it daily all I have done to it is a trans rebuild and distrib gear replacement. I need new drums to refurbish the brake system.

I just bought a 72 Duster with less than 24,000 miles on it. It is a 198 cid /6. I had to remove the rusted out exhaust and had it dualed out with twin round turbo muffs. The pipes come out the rear and some people ask if it is a 340It has dealer added air and 3 on the tree. I am looking to modify it a little.

The 72 sounds like a nice looking car. thanks for the reply. I will keep my old car original. I have another motor for it out of a 1975 dart in the basement in Atlanta. I have a co-worker who has a 74 dart in need of a radiator. I am hoping he will sale it to me for less than his want for $1000. I can then work on my 69 and still be able to get to work.

in the past i have had 2 67 darts with 198/6,73,74,(3)75sallin dusters 1 76 aspen wagon 1 78 1 79 half tons,2 82,1 83 half tons. at present i have an 87 225 carb 1/2 ton and a 74 225/auto duster.my nickname is AL BUNDY because the car is brown and my name is ALBERT! i also have a 75 duster/360 4bbl headers,console 727/shift kit 2500 stall,280/480 cam,750 dbl pumper holley,alum street performer intake super stock alum top pans,traction bars,391 8&3/4 posi trac,cragar sst rims/defender white letter tires. this car is yellow and has a sun roof-looks alot like the car on " happy gilmore".

Default 64 valiant 4-speed conv.

My slant 6 is in a 64 valiant conv (v-200) I understand that this is the only year for the 6 with a 4-speed. I do have a later alum. 4-speed od unit that I'm going to put in this summer

I have a 1975 dodge dart swinger! With a slant 6 soon to be a 318 4 brl but i cant complain the / 6 is great its smoked a few imports HEHEHE!! A good friend of mine has a 71 demon It had a / 6 but now its a 340 !!!! YALL HAVE A GOOD DAY!!

Nancy is a 74 Plymouth Valiant 4 door Sedan. She's cream white with a gold vinyl top and gold cloth interior. Equipped with the 225-6 under the hood, nancy boasts 52K original miles (she had 43K when i found her 2 yrs ago).

Default 37 Dodge Sedan

I'm considering how hard or easy it would be to put a slant 6 and transmission of some kind into a 37 Dodge Sedan that currently has an engine blown in 1966.

Am fixing up the rest of the car but havn't decided on running gear. Anyone done this before with tips?

At my work, Kallita Charters, we have a "tug" that we use to tow Learjets with. It has a /6 in it and has more than enough power to pull 16,000lb airplanes. Heck we have pulled a lockheed electra (Navy P-3 Orion) Im guessing 60-75,000 lbs?

I have a 71 Dart Swinger with a 225 in it, but what's more interesting is that I just finished helping a friend put a slant six in a 70 Nova!
I got the engine from a wrecked truck for $25.00 about a year ago. My friend and I were knocking back a few cold ones while discussing the possibilities for his Nova. I offered the 225 and help installing it. A month later we have a 70 Nova with a 225 slant six, a 904, and a ten bolt rear.
He did most of the cutting and welding himself. It is amazing how tight the fit was. Especially when you consider that there are 70 Novas running around with big blocks in them.
Anyway, that is one of the most satisfying installation I ever helped with. Mostly because It REALLY PISSES OFF THE CHEVY GUYS around here!
I also had a 57 Ford Fairlane with a 360/727 combo in it. It was a straight six with 3 on the tree when I bought it for $25.00 in two payments.

Hey dad1, I am sorry you were misled for all those years by those "other guys", but it is now obvious you have seen the light. The cure for The Heartburn of America is spelled: MOPAR! 71 Fury I....Slant 6....3 speed on the column.....33,000 original miles....accelerates and cruises as good as ny 71 fury III with a 318!

We just finished a Duster over the winter. My pops had rebuilt the motor like a year ago so we put it in. Repainted the car techon blue from its original Al Bundy color.

Here is a pic of the car when we got it back form my uncles paint booth. I think that color looks great on it. Just needs some rims baldy and she will be good to go.
