Cool Mine is in.......

I actually have a 225 slant 6 "Leaning Tower of Power" in my 1973 Dodge 1/2 ton Custom 100 Pick Up. It still has all the factory stickers uder hood, and the original Three-On-The-Tree.
Just last night me and a friend ran it against a 2001 Chevy POS and I think that the man driving the Crap Heap was crying when i left him at 5 car lengths, and then shifted to 3rd.

The first car I ever rode in was a slant six. My gandma's 1973 Charger, white with green interior, /6 and 3 on the tree. My parents drove me home from the hospital in it. My grandma was the 2nd owner (bought in in 75'). That car never gave them any trouble. Except for when my grandma ran it into a curb and dented the frontend. Thats when my dad discovered how good krylon spray paint matched the factory white

[FONT=arial]my son has a '64 Dart 170cu.in. 2dr. coupe w/ pushbutton tranny and AM radio and heater: that's all.

I have a '73 Dart Swinger 225 cu.in. 2dr. h'top. w/auto trany, power steering and AM radio. the A/C doesn't work -the controls are usesless.

Too bad they didn't make an '82 or '91, 'cause I'd want them too as long as one was a sation wagon and the other was a convertible!

COLIN love your vf!

Colin i just gotta say ,that is one fine mopar. the color is great,perfect even for today! You guys really benefit from all the aero-dynamic grill/frontend styling cues. they are very noticable,yet unique. I used to have a 67dart and a 68 dart gts ,both cars would have looked awesome with the vf front clip! At present I have a 74 225 duster and a 75 360 duster that i am sure would look good with that frontend also. I wonder if you guys were given a PT cruiser with aussie stylings,what it would look like?, if you ever do please post a picture of one!

Smile '77 Volaré Premier 2-doo

My slant 6 is in a landau coupe that has been driven beyond the Florida stateline only once in its life -- a brief trip by my parents to New Orleans. The car is very clean with 41k original miles. Color: "carmel tan." Picture attached. Interior fabric is amazingly well-preserved velour. The engine is very solid. I need to clean up the engine compartment and would appreciate hearing from anyone who has replaced wiring and hoses in one of these F bodies. I'm not sure if I will want to do any engine mods, but I do want to do minor rust repair on the exterior and give it a new paint job. I am looking for a source for the landau material, in case that needs to be replaced. The landau material is in pretty good condition, but I am worried that it may look a little seedy against new paint. I welcome contact with Volaré/Aspen owners who have information to share about their projects

One of my buddies at work has an '83 Plymouth Voyager Van. It's got a 225/6 with a 904. If I'm not mistaking, the '83 Voyager was the last year that Plymouth made full size vans.

It's a low option van, with a/c being about the only option in it, and it's a 5 passanger. It runs good, and he enjoys it. I found it for him about 3 years ago. Got it for dirt.

Default /6 in what

i got a 64 dart gt last april real clean ivory with red int a/t a/c. runs sweet just got back from east texas last night with a 74 duster /6 at ac/ etc. had been setting up since 96. man wanted $5.00 for car but i wheeled and dealed and got him down to $1.00 and then i didnt pay him, hahahah, just joking, he gave it to me to get it out of his yard. trailered it back to arkansas. this morning i spent 45 minutes replacing a couple of plug wires and coil wire hooked up jumper batt, primed carb and it did start after a few tries. usual spit and sputter but will crank on its on now. if engine smooths out i may put it in my 64 and upgrade to 2bbl carb(i hve one already) it does make a POPPING sound but i am betting on the usual cracked manifold. seems like this engine with hydraulic lifter and elec. ign. would be better for the 64. will welcome any comments. o yeh i have a 64 dart gt parts car also. it had a /6 but now just an empty spot under the hood. my neighbors are begining to wonder about me

Question '64 dart parts car

hey dqkid!

so let the neighbors wonder! bet they can't do all the work you can do to get any one of your cars runnin'. It takes ambition, a dream, and too much time on your hands -- just like the rest of us "Dodge Boys"!!!

sounds like you're gonna be pretty busy this fall! congrats on the freebie!

my '73 Dart Swinger has the cracked manifold. 67k original on it and it runs as smooth as silk, just sounds like hell on wheels when you step on the gas!

my son has a '64 dart 2dr. coupe - only options are push-button auto tranny & AM radio.

would you happen to have intact & good shape plastic dash pieces?? mainly looking for pieces around the tranny selector. Please let me know.

Good luck with all your fun!

Default 64 parts

sorry no extra dash parts, previous owner parted out some on the parts car before i got it. i have a friend with a 64 valiant and we were both looking for driver side arm rests. i think i found some at Laysons.com but i havent priced them yet. i also saw some small bolt pattern cragar s/s wheels there, have to save a long time for those.

I have a 72 Gold Duster /6 3 spd with factory floor shift, 3:23 rear vinyl top and no other options. I replaced the leaky radiator with one from my 76 /6 Duster that had A/C and automatic. This car never gets hot. I've changed the rear springs to the ones from the 76 ( little higher rate ) and added an anti sway bar, all with new poly bushings.

Too bad it's rusted so badly.

Default \6 in what

My first slant was a '84 D-100 I bought new. Took it to the drag strip only once and won sportsman runnig 20.50's. After making 2 or 3 payments, an oak tree split in half during a storm putting an end to my first slant. Having owned V-8 Mopars since '72 (except the D-100), I have picked up several slants begining in Feb. 99. They are in the order bought:

'87 D-150, 225/auto, {needed a truck}
'66 Dart 170 2dr,170/auto, {really wanted '66 Valiant}
'68 Valiant 200, 225/auto, 34,000 miles, {too nice to pass on}
'66 Valiant 100,170/auto, 1 owner, {car I first looked for}
'68 Valiant Signet,225/auto, {future bracket car}
'84 D-100, 225/883od, {wanted manuel trans to tow with}

I still have 4 V-8 B-bodies and 1 V-8 E-body but these slant 6 cars are just as much if not more fun. The way \6's are getting changed out for V-8's, they'll be as hard to find as a HEMI car.

Cecil

72 Dart 2 dr. 3spd auto, non post. Paid 800 in Sept. 02. Straight body, needs to be sanded and painted, (currently primered by prior owner), Needs seat cover and carpet and front windshield, picked up a couple of rocks a few weeks back. Just changed her over to electronic. Looking for supersix in the yards. Has the four piston disc up front, P/S, P/B, came with a/c but was RIPPED out some time back. Changed out the heat/AC box to straight heat. Had the orignal AM radio, NOT WORKING when I got her but had to put in a working am/fm tape deck (no cutting). Runs clean but not to quick or good on the hills. Best of all she fits prefect in the box with my 01 Dakota V-6 sport. (slightly modified) or my 95 Dakota V-6/5sp sport that my daughter now drives. kicks rice runner and rustang butt constatnly.
First /6 was a 63 four dr dart from Rott-island. (Flintstone mobile) Payed $200 in Texas, (military) ran like a bat out of hell for the four months I had it till the motor gave out back in California. The poor thing really wasn't worth fixen so I gave it a good burieral.
