Question slant gets rochester 2bbl like 4bbl?

My buddy wants to install a rochester 2bbl that looks like a 4bbl but does not have the back barrels on his 84 half ton truck 2wd 3spd. We have a offenhauser 4bbl for slant6. Can we just remove the intake without removal of exhaust manifold? Has anyone tried this before? We will have to run an adaptor for the rochester-spreadbore to the square intake but I think this will help to increase the plenum area to better mix the fuel. Any ideas on the CFM of this carb? I think it will be the best size we can come up with cheap. The carb is off my 77 Catalina 301 auto derby car. Hey it lasted 3 derbies although GM metric trannies are junk-used 2 of them-finally I had to install a turbo 400.

I don't know about the CFM rating, but I am pretty sure that you can't remove the exhaust manifold separatly. I believe they are attached. But I am not possitive.

You can try, but you will probably have to have both off because the gasket is gonna need replaced. I don't think the intake will come separately anyway because of the stud that holds them together.

Well the manifold and carb are now installed in the truck. It took about 6 hours times two people, a full Sunday worth of work but it was worth it. The main problem we had was getting the Offy intake onto the motor. It seems the bolt hole by the carb on the bottom and the bolt hole in the middle by the intake runner were a little smaller than the original intake we removed but we didnt notice till we had it halfway on and it wouldnt move on up on the head studs. We ended up using two 4ft bars to slowly work it onto the head. The Quadrajet 2bbl-Dualjet looks like a 4bbl body worked great. We ran a quadrajet to holley adaptor on the intake to mount carb. Linkage hooked up easily as well as the fuel lines. My buddy says the motor does not starve for fuel anymore nor does he think it is getting too much. The carb was for 260 Buicks and 301 Pontiacs his motor is a 225 slant 6.
