Default More details on recovered Superbee

To all those who aided in the search for my brothers car, THANK YOU. I received a call Thursday evening from my brother to hear that the car had been recovered in Columbus, Ohio. That is approximately 40-45 minutes from where it was taken. No telling where it was for the two weeks in between. Rumor is that it spent some time in Vinton County (southern Ohio) and then was sold back to someone on the Columbus east side.
Somebody made a call to the Logan County Sheriff's Department and said "I can tell you where the orange car is that you are looking for". I heard that they caught them in the act of cutting the header pipes to remove the motor. They said that they were being paid $500 to pull the motor for a guy who lived down the street. He told them he wanted to have the heads re-worked. So far the only apparent things missing are the air cleaner, radiator and battery. The dismantling of the car was being done in a backyard. WOW! How professional.
No telling what it has been through. It looks like it has been driven since there is mud on both floor mats and mud on the rear quarters. The word is that it was possibly driven from southern Ohio back to Columbus on Wednesday evening (6/21/06). Did anybody see anything that evening? If the car could talk I bet it would have one heck of a story to tell.
I will keep you informed as more information comes in. Thanks again and remember to keep detailed information about your car documented in case you ever fall victim. Keep an eye out for the missing $1200 radiator and $2000 air cleaner. I don’t like to see people make easy money selling stolen goods.

later,
Eric

What idiots. I wouldve hauled out to CA and hid it for a while. How stupid can you be to WORK ON IT in the BACKYARD where people can SEE YOU in the SAME state that you just STOLE it from.
