Default Pretty Cool RoadRunner Holeshot video

My son was back home on leave from the Army in Korea and got "our" RoadRunner out and learned to drive a 4speed. Took him a few times but he got pretty good at it. All of this was at his mom's house, I live 60 miles away, and I learned about it when he sent me the link to his video! I do not condone this street blast at all, but he already did it and it is about a kick-ass MoPar, and it is pretty cool that no one got hurt. He did get a pretty good lecture online about it AGAIN.

This is the RoadRunner that I posted about a few weeks ago making the SS Camaro "kill" on the 2 lane accelaration ramp ( I was driving, he was with me taking mental notes evidently). Not much to look at but mechanically it is ready.

He has it out on myspace (he is Roid Rage, that was news to me also), here is the link, warning that it does have the "F" word but very very faint...:

Again this is not an endorsement from me about the upside of street racing.

PS:the Sheriff Patrol Officer at the end of his block pulled him over right after this and talked to him also.

Hey, give him a break, that wasn't so bad. And tell him there are those of us who want to thank him for his service to our country.

I have done stupider! When I first bought my '70 GTX took my buddies out to show them what MoPar power was. Wound it up to 130 MPH before the violent shaking from the worn out suspension made me take my foot out of it.
That was in '85. 19 years old, young, dumb and that is how most 19 year old guys die.

My best freind had that car in orange with the black stripes. On the way home, he taught his buddy a lesson in Mopar power. He creamed the Firebird, but it took until 155 to do it.
Poor Ralph lost his ride, drivers license and almost bought a ticket back to Mexico.

Sounds sweet, you must not be running an X pipe huh? I love that non-crossover sound.

No cross-over, good MoPar trained ears! I could always tell the Mopes from the others at the track. Exhaust was put on with the 383 and too hard to re-do to match up to a different engine or headers and I knew I was going with a 440 as soon as I could. The exhaust will be redone to larger pipes with x-pipe or crossover when he gets back Stateside permanently.

The car is setup with a TQ on a cast iron intake from a '76 Newport, I had DemonSizzler tune the TQ. He may go with an open plenum later, but it sure goes like heck now.

Those are just 2 1/2 inch Walker Turbos. The 383 I replaced with this 440 was even louder at wide open throttle! The 383 would rev to 6500. This 440 likes it to 6000 but shifting at 5750 is best. Wolverine 1 1/2 inch headers, .509/292 cam.

A cross over helps cut down the drone inside the cab and doesn't hurt performance, not sure how much it actually helps. An x-pipe setup would be better all around.

As the driver of that "street blast" I just want to say thanks to Chuzz for thanking me and the rest of my guys overseas doing what we do so that we all can do what we do everyday, enjoy freedom and the American way of life . Correction to beepbeepsrule' comment about me getting pulled over....false! I got away and he lectured my buddy (the camera man) that I "shouldn't do that", but hey I wanted to take something back with me overseas to remind myself what we're fighting for. Is that such a crime? heh heh. I'm going to post another video of "our" Roadrunner with the ole 383 and my 1st love soon. Hope y'all enjoyed that video as much as I did!!
