427 Vette

There's a bunch of us guys that meet on Friday nights at a car gathering. One of our friends has an older split window Vette w/427ci (new motor that he said dyno'ed w/hp an torque in the mid 500's. I've been asking him to meet me at the drags but he keeps talking about how easily he'll beat me. One of the other guys has a '69 Z28 w/383 stroker (a real nice guy that says his engine puts out in the low 400hp range). Everyone thats seen both of our cars run said the Z28 wouldn't beat my car. For some reason the Vette owner hasn't been talking so much smack lately about beating me. I just found out why last night, he ran against the Z28 and lost a couple of weeks ago. Funny he never mentioned getting smoked by a small block!

You got's to love these poor bugga's that bang on about how many horses the Dyno tells them their ride is pulling!!

I have yet to see a dyno or some fancy computer software race and win.

If he don't have a timeslip from the strip he has NOTHING!

After unloading my 3650 pound 1965 coronett with a 360. I hear, we can beat that car no problem .I look to see a mid 70's big block camaro,and three guys looking at my car. So, I made sure to get in line where we would run on the first time trial. He ran 8:23 I ran 7:68. They came and looked at My car while I was talking to My budy to cars down,but left as soon as I started back to my car.
