Default 300M vs porsche boxster

My bro has a 2001 300M(He calls it a 400M as its headed for near 400hp) with his own design deeper gears(3.89 vs 4.96)that he sells for prowlers but also fit 300M's,it also has 20" chrome wheels and tires and has a K&N cone intake, and eibach springs,1" lower,it runs very hard,15.0s at 4800ft,well He was taking Our dad(Hes 70 yrs old) somewhere and gets lined up with this boxster at a light, well dad says lets see what hes got(guess where we get it?)so Its neck and neck from 0-80mph,not an inch by either car,Im sure the porsche owner didnt feel near as good as my bro did after all My bro saved $40,000 over the boxhead owner.....PRO..

Thumbs up

What else can be done performance-wise to the Letter car?
They do have some oomph above 4000 but what bothered me was the gear spacing, Chrysler puts this killer V6 in the but then follow with with a mediocre tranny(IMO)...guess that's why the gear swap helps. Centrifugal blower maybe? I've seen em' on the Prowlers.
Anyway, nice surprise on the Euro car

Thats amazing Pro..what else did he do to the tranny??Because from what Ive heard the Trans is a seriouse weak link...examples
1)from a couple sources that the 300M-S was supposed to have 295hp BUT the tranny suffered catostophic failure almost 100% of the time.
2) a TSB stating that regular use of the slap shift halved the life of the trans...
anyway I hope your dad has done it the way Chrysler should have

PRO, how did he trick out his M for that much power?

I'm wondering cuz i'm looking for some ideas for my intrepid. anything can help.

and yes, the chrysler tranny blows a fat rod. it's the weakest link in the drivetrain. there's almost 30% loss of power thru it.

The trans is updated since 2000,but its the same one in the prowler too,he has 379hp(12.64) in it with absolutely no probs after 20K hard miles, although the updates are minor from what chrysler says, anyhow go to www.prowlerpro.com to check out the prowler and 300M............PRO...

Default Saved 40K?

If your brother saved 40K over a boxster, must have gotten a heckuva deal on the 300M. Boxsters run 42K to 48K. They are 14.7-15.0 second 1/4 cars. The Boxster S is a high 13 second car, however it'll run an additional 10K or so..
