Default mustang corraled

today the temp was nice so i decided to take the Demon out for a cruise.
so i'm drivin around, when this mustang gets up beside me. the guy asked me if i'd like to engage in a streetrace.
i say LETS GO and we head out of town.
we agree to 1-2-3- go. we line up. the count starts BAM, he leaves on 2.
what a surprise ! he pulls me 2 cars, but i'm comin fast. i hit 2nd and i closin in. once i go to high its all over for him.
i beat him by at least 2 cars.

360/auto/4.10 vs. 302/5speed 4.10

he claimed that he had run 12.56 at the track so who knows!

i've run 12.60's on street tires

Now the question of the day is.....................

Was his 12.56 on a 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile drag strip?

i talked to my son about this guy. he said that the mustang was only running low 13's. he just decided to take on a bigger dog and he was the loser lol.
i dont go out looking 4 trouble, but sometimes it just finds you.
besides, i'm waitin on this dude in town to finish his camaro.

On Thursday, the weather was really nice here in Northern California, so I took the GTX out for a little spin after work. I'm at a two lane left hand turn intersection with a new Mustang GT next to me on the right. It's a really busy intersection right in the middle of downtown so I have absolutely no intentions of getting a ticket but this young guy (with his girlfriend) decides to rev up his engine and get on it halfway through the turn. I don't even bother looking over at him and when we get to the next light, he pulls the same shit. Again, I just ignore him but start scanning the area for cops. With none in sight, we again lign up at the next red light. This time I look over with this shit eating grin on my face. He and his girl both look back and when the light turns green we both come off easy. Then he gets on it and starts to pull out. with that I just kind of kick it a little and jump out past him and then slow down. He then turns off at the next signal with this disgusted look on his face and his girlfriend just looking over at the monster MOPAR.

Exclamation Right ON!

Out of all the runners and chargers and Challengers I have had over the years,my favorite is the ol 69 GTX.440 hemi 4sp and a dana 355.I traded a bronco for it but the kid hadent paid it off so no clear title. If it wasnt for that I am sure I would still be running it,spun 2 bearings racing a Harley on I 5 by Boeing south of Seattle one drunken evening and sanded down the crank and inserted it and drove back home to Spokane the next day pulling a car on a trailer.Try that with a bowtie abortion.

A 440 Hemi and a 3.55 Dana? Did that beast have a full race cam or just the 3/4?

Hemi 4speed trans is what i tried to say but was misunderstood, you know, the larger input shaft and bearing, was stock from the factory in that car.
