Nice car man, I have a '73 Scamp (uses the 1970 Dart rear bumper and taillights with the '73 Duster front end). It has the factory 318 2bbl single exhust with the stock 904.

Under the hood looks new, but its all stock and clean. it ran a 16.89 in Colorados altitude (Bandimere Speedway) and ran a 16.43 in Pomona California. The only thing non-factory about my car is the alternator, belts radiator hoses, front rotors and pads, suspension bushings, shocks, tie rods and balljoints, and the Magnum 500s I put on it because I'm not partial to the stock hubcaps. I did keep the steelies and caps, they're in the garage.

Does everyone think your car is a Dodge Dart? And if so, does it make you nuts explaining to them what a Plymouth Scamp is? If so, join the club and keep beating up imports Good job.

Mid- to High-16's? Um, Scamps rock and all, but you need some horsepower, TC. If you don't want to mess with your stock ride, I'd recommend getting another small block you can swap in (360'd be just fine). 4bbl, intake, cam & headers on your 318 would get your time down, too.

I'm just sayin' there are many imports that can meet or beat mid-16's in the quarter...

Default I know

Oh, belive me, I have a nasty 360 waiting to go in, but I like beating up people with a 318. There's nothing like eating an early 70's big block car with a 318 2 bbl. the 16.8 run is at 6500 feet altitude. If I was at Pomona and I did a few things to the ignition (bigger wires, recurve springs, new control box, etc.) I could run a 15.9-8 with the little 318. I have seen 340's run 11.2's at 6500 feet... I just like the 318's I have a 440 in my '68 Charger and I don't need 2 12 second cars.
