Default Nobody tries to race me..

I know my car looks real fast and sounds real fast. It is pretty fast. But nobody ever even atempts to get racy with me. The ricers try to act like they dont notice my rig in traffic. I will even rev it up a bit when next to them just for shits and grins. Maybe I did such a good job of making it hard to notice. That was my plan, from the paint to the no badging and stance. Anyway, I just dont get hassled by others much.
Do you?
Oh yeah they do bug the hell out of me when they say, " hey nice camaro" :flip:

LOL Mark, I would need some lower numbers to do that!
DWC I'd like to go roundy-round, that would be fun! I really kicked butt at the go cart track last week! I came back to tell my girlfriend I want a go cart! Lets see, If I start now I could make it to the big time by the time I am 70 or so.

Before this thread goes stale;

I don't come to off topic forums alot, but, I really understand 70Barracuda's post. Owning a '73 Cuda myself, a few crushing victories over ricers and the word is out. "Watchout for the White Krylon pinted Cuda."
I whooped ass up on a big block Olds last year, and now all but 2 want to go from the Olds camp. Both big block cars with some crazy hardware.
The ricers learned what a muscle car can do. They leave me at the line and get stomped my 300 feet and cry the rest. (And stupid sheet too.)
Chevy guys are more than willing as well as late model Stangs. Stang guys think they have the cats meow with F.I and 5spd trannys.
You think you have a problem with a stealth looking Cuda? Try one with S/S springs, fatty fat tires and cannon sized exhaust thats heard from 3 houses away, never mind W.O.T runs.

I also consider the Camaro comment an insult depending on whom is speaking. Otherwise I go into the old rutine of..."Say, what school you go to. They answer. Good, thanks for letting me know where not to send my kids. Now, with there dumb look on there face and not sure why or where the insult is coming from, I remark that there stupid (In nice words) and miss the obvious/can't read since it's writin on the car in 3, count them kid, 3 different spots it says CUDA!
If hes a dick, I mostly end it with a out loud comment on departure of;
"What a dumb F#*%! Can even freakin read!"

Yeah baby!
Rumble, check out my avatar, 325 50 15 BFG Drag radials. 242 cam with full 2 1/2 flowmasters. The looser neighbors dont care for me either. I have yet to have a mustang even act like they wanna go.
The facts are, we children of mother Mopar swing a big stick that demands respect!

Hard to se the tires in the avatar pic. Those are some good size meats under there. Whats the rim offset.
Currently, I have gotten a good deal on Ford truck rims that fit my Cuda. So I hopped on it. With 255/60/15's, there scaping the outter lip. I have S/S springs the are junk built in Mexico and leveled off in the sag position. Might be awhile till I recitfiy the problem. Doing A '79 Dodge Magnum right now for stress relief from the Cuda.

They are 6 1/4 in and 3 3/4 or real close to that. I really need to change them to 6 - and 4 +. Unfortunately the place here in town went out of business so its Stockton and shipping for that one.
After my last post I noticed the avater does not show it well.

70Barracuda, I get almost any kind of car wanting to race me in my Viper all the time. I just smile and wave and don't race - it would be a waste of gasoline and possible big ticket. I think they mostly just want to see how fast a Viper really is and if it really does have 714 HP (it does).

You have a car that most of them probably don't even know what it is, and if they do, then they know the awesome power of the mighty 340. I had a '70 Duster 340 that was Purple and came with the factory drag racing package and my mom liked it so much that she got herself a '71 Duster 340 as soon as she could order the '71's. Sounds like you have an awesome car and the right stuff under the hood. My '70 duster 340 was the fastest car I ever had until I got my Viper.

Well, if nobody challenges you, that means you have done your job well. Look at it this way, nobody ever picks a fight or a race that they don't think they can win.

Remember, winning isn't everything, but second place is the FIRST LOSER!!!

Kenny, good points. I would probably do that to a Viper too just to see some rubber fly!
Dick, thanks, I think I did reach my goal as far as looks, stance, and sound. Now I just need to save up for that 451!

Kenny, you are so right on the Duster. Those were wicked fast! I got screwed on my first car a 70 340 4 speed Duster for $1,400. So I bought a 69 Mach 1 351 W. auto. I raced the guy who got the Duster and he blew me off before he hit second! I was like and he was :

Such is the case. Add headers to an old V-8 and they thick it has something.

How does one mount a camera in the car. I have seen vid's of it done, but not on how it was mounted in the car.

There are camera mounts that can be used on rol bars for both still and motion pictures. There are also camera mounts mainly used for in car survielnce use. Want one? I can get either one. Costly though.

LOL, thanks, not yet. Since the Cuda is down and out for a while, I'm in no rush. No roll bar eathier thogh I should invest in one this time around before I twist something up. The Magnum should ride within 6 months. (Nothing is ever easy except me. )
70Barracuda That type of post is common from him. Open ended. Notice how he didn't finger anyone person, just a general statment. So don't take offense.
He told me to "Just post a slip" once. Like it would actually prove anything. Heck, If I wanna lie, I just say hey Tim, Jeff, Lee, slap me one of your slips so I can get my yo-yo's off at this site by letting them think I run------< insert time desired.
Heck, believe me or don't....whatever...

Well, there are a few fast cars around here too. I like to think the guys with em know how expensive that ticket is. $20 on Fri and Sat nights at the strip are safe and cheap. My original post was really how the mustangs, camaros and rice act like they dont notice my car in traffic right next to them. I see them playing with each other alot.
Besides I probably would freak out in Chicago, I hear they have phones and cable TV there! We are still weary off Injuns around here!

Islander here; Never had to go that far to see the action. Allways the Conduit (sp) and Deer Park Ave. DPA= Rt.231 or Rt 24 (Hempstead Trnpk)
Later after that hay day, there was allways Ocean Pkwy, Parts of Sunrise Hwy. And the industral parks.

Don't know, never got to the track. Lots of Murphys law. Others here that have run there car with exact same combo and very very similar built 360's post 12.7's - 12.02's. I'm sure I was closer to 12.7's. Never really got to mess with it much. I finnaly got the AFB dailed in when the engine started to knock.
The quicker 12.02 was (If memory serves) done in a Dart with a mech. cam replacement instead of the Hyd. 292 purple. More track set up car than my street light racer/cruiser.
I had posted that I would show and tell results, but it wasn't to be.
May be in the future. I put the car to the side for now and grabed a '79 Dodge Magnum to play with. (Click here to view. Cuda with hood up behind it.) http://www.moparchat.com/forums/atta...achmentid=2929 Going for a 318 - 400 swap. K-frame came back to me today, waiting on the swap kit, http://www.engine-swaps.com/ ,ordered some K-frame bushings today down at the local Chrysler dealer.
That reminds me, time to change the sig.

Purchased as a 318/904/8-1/4, I grabed a '78 Cordoba's drive train for a swap. The new drivetrain will be a , HP,400/727/9-1/4. The current 3.23 (I think) rear will be swapped out for a 3.55 ring and pinion.
The only change so far is headman headers for the big block.
The 400's current T-Q will be swapped out. The secondarys are not working correctly. I'll be putting a '73 air cleaner on top. (The trap door in the base unit) Current tires are 235/60/15's on all 4 corners.
Once I'm done, It'll be back to the Cuda.
