Default Barracuda takes out go-go juiced Regal

Time line 1987:

Saturday night at a party out in the country, knocken down a couple cases of Mick. This guy we know from another town walks up to me a says; everyone tells me your 67 barracuda hasn't been beat yet; I guess so; I said to him. He told me his 83 Regal would blow my piece of S#!T away!
Down at Cedar Falls Raceway in Iowa, my 67 Barracuda would turn 12.20s
@112 mph all day long. 340 with a 727auto 4.11 rear all the good stuff a 21 year old could afford in 1987.
The other guys Regal had a 350 chevy stroker (383) with the go-go juice. That thing almost hit the 10 second zone. 11.01 @ 121.
I knew at the track he could beat me with the juice on. I never seen the car run off the juice. I ran around town a lot with my slicks on always waiting for a challange from some younger kid with a 12 or 13 second car. Back in 1987 there were not to many 11 second street cars.
Back at the party, the challange was called out and I backed down. My buddy and our two girlfriends grabbed me and pulled me off to the side. He said he seen that guy race before out on a country hiway and that all he does is spin at the start. I had the slicks on that night and Regal boy said I had to put on street tires. I told him it's, run what you brung! If your going to race me it's just as you see the car right now. He said ok, but he was leaving his NOS on. We didn't even make it to the best 2 out of 3. The Regal was all done in the first 300 ft. The BF goodrich tires on the Regal would just spin 3/4 way through 2nd gear. The 67 Barracuda with the slicks would hook up after about 20 ft. and it was all over for the Regal. We raced two times that night. Plymouth-2 Buick-0

Boy! how young, dumb, and stupid we were back then!
