Default '73 Cuda

Just recently purchased and then drove home 15 hours. That was more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Yes everything worked fine. There was a bit of a vibration when I tweeked it to about 70mph, but nothing serious. I had to take it in for inspection to get plates put on and it needed a u-joint and put new tires on(balanced), so hopefully that will iliminate that. Other than that all it needed was the rear master brake cylinders and it passed with flying colors.

Hi everyone,
We went to the Mopar Nationals/Car show this weekend in Woodburn, Oregon. It was a blast, I'm a bit more "hard of hearing" now but what the hell!
I have some pictures, enjoy!!
Check out the wheels.

My father bought it in '75. 1974 318/904. We were supposed to restore it together but he lost his battle with cancer last year so I will do the best I can on my own. Plans: repair rust and the few minor dents and dings incurred from storing for 15 years; clean up and refurbish interior door and rear panels; sew new seat covers; paint and maybe new vinyl top; freshen 318 with rings bearings and gaskets; install AVS 4bbl, beefier cam (340 kit?) and dual exhaust; mount some fat tires; enjoy!

Get ready for fun

Scott,
You are just starting on a fun trip and as you go you'll start to bond with the van. All the things you've described are pretty much ahead of me too, with the addition of rebuilding the tranny. My father had a Dodge van, I was young and don't remember the year but 1969 or 70. Good luck and have fun.
The internet is an excellent way to find those hard to find parts....

Marsha

Thanks.I like her, she is not a "trailor Queen" and lives outside in our weather! Always starts and gets me there. Only 60 thou on the clock, was in a museum in the States for a long time, then in a private collection in the UK for 12years in which time she did 300 miles! Not mint, just nice and solid. I have a small collection myself and she sits well in it. G

She's very sad looking, but sweet on the road.

1973 Plymouth Valiant
1968 Duster Mopar 318 30 over
Holley carb
AM Radio...that works!

Paid $1000

I'll take it over any other $1000 piece on the road

I will probably be here frequently for help....first question

Where can I get a book on rebuilding the carb...something like

Holley for Dummies

Haven't got enough posts put put up pics, but soon I hope

Well I hope you have as fun and safe trip. shame the US is so far away, would love to take in some off the big nationals! But 20 odd cars, 4 kids, tooo many pets, a full time job and a very "understanding" new wife (traded the old one in for a much newer model ) who luckily is as much into the cars as me (currently runs a 98 Firebird but a 68 Chevy C10 with a 402 is on its way), kinda takes up all my time.

Please do not think that I am some troller for selking stuff but I wanted to tell you about a product I use for my 70 Challenger.

I live in Maryland on the Cheasapeake Bay and we are famous for HUMIDITY which as you know is the killer of cars.

Due to a set of laws called the critical area laws that have to do if your property is withing 100 feet of the Bay or it's Tributaries (I am on the Severn River - a Tributary) , you literally need a permit to do anything except cut grass and plant small trees.

I have been trying for 5 years of battling to get a permit for a garage. 1/2 acre of land is more than enough for just about anywhere in the USA but not here.

While I continue to battle, I bought a device that does not need a permit (maybe homeowners but not here) to house my car.

Look at the FAQ section on the website I list below to see how this thing works.

Before you make fun of me,let me tell you that I too was very scepticall.
I have tried a bunch of experiments with this thing and can attest to the fact that it works.

One experiment was to lay a bunch of non rust proof sheet metal screws on a little table inside the thing and after 6 months, not a sign of rust. Must admit that the table is in the 'front end' of the thing where the exhcnasge fan is.
The most telling experiment was this one:
I purpoesly put my car soaking wet after a long and tedious drive through a major thunderstorm into the Car Capsule bubble and it was dry as a bone a few hours later

Now I put the car away whether it is dry or not because I know that it will be dry in abut 2 hours.

I do not have a large enough post count to list urls so go to:

carcapsule .com

Look for the outdoor one.

Again, I have ZERO financial interest in this company and my motivation is simply to try and help those who can not have a garage to find a way to keep their collector car DRY - that's it.

Hello anyone. I'm a newbee or nubee or nube, or nub whatever you want to call me. I am joining the forum to find out more about the mid-60s A 100 pick ups. Does anyone have one and can you tell me anything about them. I'm looking at one right now with a slant 6. Are they any good?

Best you start a new thread and ask your specific questions...

I'm sure there are people here who either have one or have done in the past.

Can I use a 1984 2.2l(non-turbo, TBI) engine block and place my pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, and all the internal parts from my 1985 2.2l turbo, EFI? I'm sure the exhaust with the turbo on it will bolt on to the 84 engine block..I think. will it work? I have the 84 engine in the garage and want to work on it while I drive the 85. will the pistons on the 84 TBI non-turbo work on my 85 turbo? do i need different piston rings?
or pistons?
