I'm back in for the first time in several months. Looks like there are still lots of issues and the old pics aren't showing up. I just see a little black x where they were. Apparently I can now attach pics however...

The 'x' might sometimes relate to when a remotely-hosted image is no longer hosted there...

Or it could mean (in the case of Postimage-hosted pics, for instance) that there is a need to alter the URL.

If you check a post where there's a pic missing, click on quote and if it's a postimage pic, change the '.org' to '.cc' and post your quote, the pic should reappear.

I haven't been here in a while. But I have an excuse. I traded the Road Runner for a microphone.

Tried to direct the allpar crowd here when VS bought and ruined allpar but was completely ignored.

Very nostalgic about this site. Please never take it down.

I don't know what will happen here. I've tried contacting the moderator (Dick) by private message as well as a couple threads where he had posted some time ago. Tried a few times over the past year or so but I get no response.

I wonder if anyone will ever fix this?

I just went to post, found I had to log in, it then said I didn't permission, then I opened Performance Chat in another window, it was automatically logged in and I could post.

You sure need patience here... a shame, it was always a good forum.

Yep, not so good. It appears even the last moderator has abandoned ship.

My first check in for a couple years. The site did shed a lot of people when it was having issues a few years back. Now there are several MOPAR groups on FB. Still nothing like what this place used to be.

I do remember Dick having health issues. I hope he is still wrenching on his MOPARs.

Good for you...

Facebook is no substitute for forums. I see it as almost useless when it comes to this sort of thing.

I would like to add this...

There must be 'traffic' here as the story I posted about Dorothy and the De Soto was put up about seven weeks ago. There's been 356 hits on that, though nobody ever replied. Presumably that means at least 250 people are still checking the place out even if a bunch of them looked at it twice.

250 people is a good core for activity if only they were posting. Perhaps they're striking the barriers which affected others?

I've wondered about that myself. It would seem as though a number of people check things out here and move on ... or maybe the barriers you mentioned.

Still here checking in periodically. About to start tearing my motorhome 440 down and start the project of swapping it into my 89 D150. Exact information of what's needed for my specific year of truck seems hard to find. There's a lot of vague but not exact information out there.

I'll always keep fond memories here. Might even post progress once I get going.

For sure post updates. What year is the RV ?
Many moons ago I built a 440 from an RV. Believe it was a '75 ...
Here's a couple links to RV 440's you may find interesting :

It's stamped as 78. Still largely assembled and still mated to the 727. It came from a 78 or 79 class a pace arrow. I popped the valve covers to see if it had the weird heads I've read about but it has a set of 452s should be an easy swap in theory. Not sure if the existing rad is up to cool a 440 or not that's one if the things I can't find definitive answers on. I've seen some say the replaced the rad and some say they didn't in these trucks. My 89 is a 318/500A trans right now.
