Default 1972 Challenger Battery Tray

It's been a long time since I posted anything on this site.

I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer. Why doesn't a NOS '70 E-body Battery Tray fit my '72 Challenger Rallye? Was there a year to year change for E-body Battery Trays?

The NOS tray has a p/n of 2925322 stamped on it and my '72 Parts Manual shows a p/n of 3404436. The bolt holes for mounting it to the inner fender don't line up but the mounting hole to the core support does. I threw away the original rusty Battery Tray a long time ago (10+ years ago) so I have nothing to compare it to.
