MY FIRST WAS A 90 DAYTONA. I wish it was a turbo( I heard they were even faster than mine) I had the Mitsu 3.0 V6. It out ran several 5.0 ponies & a few z28S on top end. Probably due to computer topend cut backs, but man the car was fun. LOL in highschool there was even a short rumor that the car was strong enough to lift the front wheels. HA HA FWD. Since that time I purchaced a 73 challanger,73 runner,87 w150,72charger,&2000durango 4x4.Road runner was sold for 1800(I wish I would have kept it) and the Challanger has not seen outside of the barn since I bought it in 96,due to money& wanting it to look great. It is still in peices. And my charger was in a fender bender Dec. 22 '07 thanks to my brother in law. I'm still tring to find a fender for it

My first Mopar was a 1972 Demon 340, 4 speed, pretty much stripped I bought new back in the day. A couple of years ago I was wanting to get another muscle car and was torn between a number of them. I then remembered that Demon was probably the most fun car I ever had. So, I bought one two years ago, and it is undergoing a full restoration right now.

1971 Charger. Got home from USMC boot camp in November 1976. And with my check I went to a Dodge dealer in Anoka, MN and when I got there they also had a 1970 Dart 340.
With the insurance companies and I was only 18 at the time I went with the 318 Charger instead. Still remember insurance companies hanging the phone up when I told them my age and car.

That`s what I thought too. Checked it 3 times though. Not sure if the previous owner used it to pull stumps or what.

Good Morning From snow covered Wisconsin
My first Mopar was a 68 R/T 440 a/t Charger,I too have to thank God my Mom didn't know what that car was able to do. I was 17 and worked a Dodge , AMC dealership in 1972. The car had a nasty piston slap in no.8 cyl. and ended up in the back row. it sat there all summer long. I ask my Boss what he thought I could buy the car for and he ask his partner. $995.00. I had to get the money from a trust fund that I had from a 1964 car accident I was in when I was 10. Mom signed and I got the car. My Boss got the parts for me and I fixed it . It was truely the fastest car in the area. I could write on for hour's but I have never given up on Mopars. I still have my 68 GTS Dart with 16768 miles on it from 1974. Still in very nice shap sitting in my heated shop.I wish all you a Great Day !

Well my first mopar was a 1971 Dodge Demon, 318/Auto, AC, bench seat... I wanted a "hotrod" so I yanked the AC unit... lol... "hotrods" didn't have AC huh? haha! Pumped in $$$ (well for me at the time it felt like $$$) on performance parts, etc. Ended up getting rid of it several years later. Second mopar I got was a 72 340/4sp Duster. Missed that car... hence my sig...

My 1st Mopar was a 71 dodge dart swinger that I had built a 225 ported big valve head w/.090 milled off,MP .460 solid, MP headers, holley 350cfm iron 2brl manifold, even cross drilled the crank & had to weld freeze plug into back pilot. It had fac disc brakes black/white interior w/rimblow steering wheel. That car ruled and I wish I never sold it sometimes.

1964 Plymouth Sport Fury, 383 4-barrel 4-Speed hurst shifter, 3.55 posi. You should have seen the looks on the faces of the Ford 390's and SS396 owners when I would Outrun them. I even took on a '70 428 cj Mach One Mustang and was out running it until I hit the garbage truck. Had a Ford lover in the passenger seat. He got a consussion and a broken ankle out of it. I got A Reckless Driving citation. Lucky to live through that one. I hit the garbage truck so hard that it bent the truck's front wheel back up under the truck. The truck had to have its frame straightened. Before it got out of the shop I had jerked the 383 out of the Sport Fury and had found another body to drop it into. Had it on the road before the truck was out of the body shop. I had a total of (3) 64 Sort Fury's. Would love to own one today with a 383 4 speed but would settle for an automatic.

Thumbs down Sad.................

My neighbor had a 64 Sport Fury/383/4spd but died about 10 years ago. Left it to his kids and they let it set. Been sitting for 30 years with flat tires and they will never do anything with it.

1971 duster

My first mopar was a second owner 1971 duster. Original bill of sale and other papers. car was even delivered on my birthday back in 71 which I thought was an omen. It was purple 340 auto rally cluster minus tack........a cool car that was in need of TLC. I worked on it and eventually repainted it Hemi orange with flat black hood. WIFE convinced me to sell it about 15 yrs ago......should have let her go instead.
I now own 54 fargo pickup V-8 auto and a 99 dakota V-6

My first was a 69 RR 383. This was summer of '70, and I had just been stationed at NAS Miramar in May. I found a guy with a '69 RR who had bought it for his kid, and the kid didn't please Dad. So I traded my nice 63 Chev Impala SS 327 straight across. The '63 needed a heater core!!

I had that car a couple of years, put headers, Edelbrock, Holley on it. It ran OK, just 3.23 rear, drum brakes, no power anything. Pretty basic coupe.

Then a good friend, who was getting married, came up with his '70 440 sixpack for sale. The die was cast. It had the six pack in the trunk, Edelbrock, 800 Holley, headers, hang on A/C, and really nice pipes coming out in front of the rear tires, nice wheels. I put over 140,000 on that car. That thing, with the 800 Holley, would get 13.8 mpg. I never broke 14 mpg.

It had power disk front brakes, of course the Dana 60 rear, and 4 speed. Black hood, and air grabber. Got into trouble with the CHP for having landing lights mounted in the high beams.

I lost a rod bearing, and went through the engine. Later, after some racing, a Sig cam, and lots of hard driving, I scattered the 440 all over the highway up by Stockton. One rod had come apart, swung around and broke the cam, and beat everything to death. I pulled the valve covers, pan, and intake and distributor, and tossed the rest in the trash can.

One push rod had done it's almost best to puncture the bottom of the intake manifold.

Ran the car for awhile with a (well) used 67 440 (yes, the good heads) which later landed in my '64 Dodge 426, and much later, in a friend's pickup truck

I pulled the 440 out of the '70 body in the midst of the 72-73 gas crunch, and put a low-miles !!!340!!! in the '70 body. With headers, it was lots of fun to tackle 383's and watch their jaw drop when they looked down in the bay at the tiny block!! The 340 would get better than 17 mpg, ran it some with Holley spread bore, but mostly with a !!!Quadrajet!!!

I went through the second 440 and put that in my '64 426, bought a trailer to haul it. Sure wish I'd kept the '64. I really liked that car, a "440" series hardtop.

Later, much later, the 440 went into a pickup. The 340 went into my '62 Landcruiser. The Roadrunner body got sold with a 360!!with 273!! heads. I lost track of the car. Damn I'd like to know what happened to it!!

My first car was a 1967 Dodge Dart 270 Ht. 273 V8 2bl. three on the tree stripie purchase in 1971. The road salt ate it up by 75', and was junked.

In 1976, my soon to be spouce purchased new, with my guidence, a 1976 Cordoba with a 400 cid lean burn. It was one of the more powerful cars produced that year. It would get 19 mpg on the highway. And no, I know what your thinking, the lean Burn worked great for 86K. It just has to be run hard to keep her cleand out.

By 81' gas was getting costly not unlike today, and then came the K Car years. By, by to the 400, hello to an 81' Plymouth Aries wagon 2.6 L left-over, and a few months later a 1982 Chrysler Lebaron Convertible, Mark Cross edition which I still have with 67,500 miles. Next came a Black 86' Dodge Lancer 2.2 turbo 5 speed that Mrs A. haited. When the head cracked at 40K miles, it got traded.

There were no new Mopars untill last year when I needed a black 2007 300C AWD. and Mrs A. got the hots for a red Nitro SLT which she lovingly calls slutty... Kind of like Chitty, in Chitty Bang Bang. I tell everyone it is just a Jeep Liberty in drag when asked what it is.

I Almost forgot on Feb 14, I purchased a 1967 Dodge Dart GT Convertible with power disk brakes, am radio, automatic, and a Clifordised 225 slant six.

Mine wasa 66 Coronet 440 with a 318, 4 drs, auto, and no power anything. My Dad's old car. I put G-78X15 red line tires on the rear and it had old Sears radials on the front, jked up the rear end about four inches an was in absolute heaven. Of course that was in 1969. I've since been through all the others, but I'm back to a 95 3500 Duallie diesel. which is slowly becomming a rat rod.

My first Mopar was a 1956 DeSoto with a 330 Firedome. I was 13. Sold it and bought a 57 Plymouth with a 318 in it. It did not take long to get myself a 392 Hemi, bore it out and trick it out. There is something about having Hemi's.

Default first mopar

Mine was a 65 Fury 3 hardtop with a poly 318. That was replaced by a 71 Challenger R/T. 35 years later I now own another 65 Plymouth, this time its a Sport Fury Convertible with 80,000 original miles on the poly 318. I'm in the process of putting a weiand intake and a Holley 600 4 barrel carb with dual exhausts, on her.
