Unhappy Throttle linkage

I have a 69' 318LA going in a 67' coronet, that origanlly came with a 318LA. My problem is that the throttle cable does not seem to be hooking up right to the carb. I have a 650cfm Edelbrock square-bore carb, on top of a edelbrock proformer intake, all rest is stock. I got the throttle adapter for the carb but it seems that the cable is sitting to close to the center of the engine to line up with the throttle control arm on the carb. Any ideas?
thanks
Rob

Hey Rob;

There shouldn't be a problem with hooking it up. It may not be perfect but, it should work none the less. If the cable is off set, just make sure it moves freely. If it binds, you did somthing wrong. Good luck.

Rob,
If you have converted a 2 barrel intake & carb to a 4 barrel intake & carb, you should try & track down a throttle cable/tranny kickdown bracket from an original 4 barrel car ('70s 360 cars are probably your best bet). It's especially important that the transmission kickdown linkage lines up & is adjusted properly to avoid destroying your transmission (assuming that you are probably running a 904 automatic). I'm in the middle of doing the same conversion as you, & have fabricated my own bracket. It turned out alright, but I think I'll still check the wreckers for the proper piece. Hope this helps.
