Default 1970 AAR Found behind garage...

Driving around I found a 1970 AAR 340+6 4spd sitting in the tall grass behind this guys garage in a near-by city. I built up the courage and went to his door to inquire on the vehicle.

He was familiar with what he had and its value...bummer. Turns out he bought it used in 1973 and drove it for a couple years before retiring it to his backyard. It is a number matching AAR that has all the cool options.

Unfortunately, he would rather let it sit outside and "restore it someday" than sell it...too bad. Prob another classic muscle car goes the way of the dinosaur! This car is ROUGH as it has been outside with the windows down for years. But it is complete engine, six barrel carbs, intake, 4 spd...everything!

Bummer, major bummer.

ps, I think I'll check back every 6-9 months or so...he seemed pretty cool about me stopping by! One can always hope.

Hey Salt, I dont know of any at the moment...but they are definetly out there....normally you dont see the great deal until the day after you buy a project (murphy's law)
Ive got a 68 Dart, Im setting up for street/strip it had a slant 6 in it and I just swapped out the motor with a 360. (fit nicely) Its got very little or no rust, straight body. The only problem with it is..................its a four door. So Ill make a sleeper out of it.....its been sitting a while (im building my house) so who knows I may sell it for the right price........... ......Craig

I just tried it and got 'Site not available" Maybe it was "Server not available at this time"

It's just a small Disk in that server I'd guess.

Let's just shoot everybody that has Two Convictions. That should eliminate the need for so many Lawyers, and Locks!

Default AAR Cuda

No, the AAR is sitting on four flat tires in the dried mud/dirt, with 2-3' weeds around. No joke, it is sad.

I can help with your questions about the cars in barns site.

A couple of years ago, Homestead.com opened its doors to free website hosting. I had a lameo site there but deleted it because it sucked. Anyways, homestead.com was getting enough money from it's sponsors so they had to figure out a way to get money. They are no longer allowing free hosting, they are now requiring the existing members to upgrade to a pay site (you have to pay to have your site hosted).

Just thought that I would pass this info along to you guys!!

Later,

Mike

Smile Cars In Barns Site

Hi all!

The webmaster of that site is having a hard time with it now that Homestead is making him pay for it.

He is selling T shirts to try to raise revenue to keep the site going. Make sure you follow the following link otherwise you get the "Maximum bandwidth limit exceeded" if you try to use older bookmarks. As it is now, his T shirt page has hit the Maximum bandwidth error already. The rest of the site appears to be functional. I was just on it today...

Default Cars in Barns....How depressing!

I finally went to this site after reading all about it. I am angry and saddened by what I saw. Why would someone hold onto a rusting frame when someone offers good money for it? If they really liked the car they wouldn't treat it that way. These people are letting a NON renewable resource just disintigrate before the eyes of many car lovers.

What is it...the bragging rights of saying you own a Hemi this or that even though it is non running and rusting BADLY!

I just shake my head and had to turn off the computer. I did go sit in my 'Cuda and smile though...her's one car that is loved for what it is. A piece of automotive history and a connection to our shared past. Ok off my soapbox and off to bed.

Garden City. Went by two days ago and its gone. I bet he put it in the garage - He has two on his lot. I may have shamed him into atleast protecting it. He wasn't home at the time so I cannot confirm this...

Cheers!
