Question Mopar Nats

Can someone tell me how much it costs to get into the Mopar Nationals? I was told that it was free. But that does not sound right. Also is their camping near by, if so how much is that? I also need an exact date.

Thanks

440+6... You're like a year late in your response.

You must have really been digging back in the history books, to find this old thread...

Default Mopar Nats -

I went last weekend hoping to see some rare Hemi Darts the 68's,but no luck . It was very nice but unless you want to drag race your car ,I like Chryslers at Carlisle a little better. Carlisle gets more show cars and the fun field is jammed. The swap are is larger also. 82 acres of pure Mopar cars and parts and vendors .Carlilse only cost $ 8.00 a day for Thur,Friday,or Sat. I went this year for the day on Sunday and they only charged me $6 and gave me a free program .There is so much there it takes at least 2 days to see everything . I have been to Carlisle 3 times now . Its the 2 nd week in July .

Well I went this year to , I did'nt find everthing I needed but I am glad I went. I had thought about Chryslers at Carlisle but I thought that they may lean more towards Chrysler than Dodge or Plymouth. If they aree bigger than the Nats and have Dodge parts as well I may check them out next time. When and where is it again?

Chryslers at Carlisle is for ALL MOPARS. They do not lean towards Chrysler only. Chrysler is just a generic term.

From the reports that I've read, this years nats were rather small and this years Carlisle was much better (yes, you already missed Carlisle).

It is good to hear that the nats was on the smaller side this year because this was my first time and I thought it would have been better. I think I was too worked up about it before I went, which made it seem not as great. I didn't get any of the parts I set out to find, but I still walked out with something. I wish I knew about the special inflated pricing in the swap area before hand. All in all, I did have a good experience there.

I may be alone in this opinion, but I feel the Mopar Nats is a total rip-off. Last year I spent $50 to be in the fun field. I got there at 9:00 am on Friday and couldn't find a parking place. I wound up on a dusty isle next to a couple of car trailers and tow trucks. After 5 hours in the dust and heat, I cancelled my room and came home. This year I had no intention of going but a friend took off work to go on Friday and wanted me to go with him. I got hosed for $20 bucks to walk through the gate. The swap meet was in the usual mud hole. The swap meet looked like a junk yard except the parts were already off the cars. Very few NOS parts to be found.

The whole Mopar Nats organization is all about making a buck off our enthusiasm fo Mopars. It doesn't have to be that way. Look at the AACA's Hershey swap meet. The biggest event in the car world and it doesn't cost a dime to the attendee. Mopar people need a strong national non-profit club. Then we can hold an event like the Nats without hosing each member.

Next year I am going to Columbus and cruise my car on Sat night and screw the Mopar Nats Rapist
