Barry Grant and Cuda66273 Thank You (long)

I bought a remanufactured 650 Speed Demon from a vendor who will remain anonymous.I also bought a reman Holley electric fuel pump at the same time from a different vendor Bob Kunz 1(314)845-2566.
I was ready to fire up the Challenger for the first time so I tested the fuel pump and the pressure relief valve was stuck wide open sending 20psi to the carb overrunning the needle and seat sending fuel out the top of the carb through the bowl vent.I shut the ignition off immediately!!!After the mess was all cleaned up I noticed that all the fuel had leaked out of the primary bowl through the bottom right screw. While the bowl was empty I noticed that there was debris in the bowl so I decided to take the bowl off and clean it out. While taking the screws out the bottom left screw didn't want to come out.Once I got the srew out I could see that the first two threads were galled up and in the process of extraction had galled the helicoil in the carb body beyond use I immediately called the vendor I purchased the carb from and was told to call BG so I did.BG told me to send it in and they would fix it.I asked how long it would take and was told two week turn around tim plus a week for shippin both ways adding up to four weeks to fix a newly purchased carb!!

I asked if there was any way that I could exchange it for a new one and tehy said if the vendor agreed to it they had no problem with it.I then called the vendor and had to practically beg them and they agreed but only after I shipped mine back first.A week later I got the new carb took it out of the box gave it a real quick once over I put the choke on it went to put the duel feed line on it and THE FUEL INLET ON THE PRIMARY BOWL WAS STRIPPED!!!! I was so p1$$ed that I had to calm down for a day before I called the vendor who told me he had never had even one bad carb out of the thousands he had sold and basically told me I was lying and he wouldn't have any more to do with me and I would have to deal with BG from now on

Well I tried to get a hold of BG durring my lunch and after work for two days and never past hold on lunch and they closed before I got off work in the afternoon.I was pulling my hair out by this time so I e-mailed Cuda66273(Don) who e-mailed me back with his # for me to call him.

I called Don told him what had been going on and chatted for awhile(Don is a cool guy to talk to). After all had been said and done Don told me he would take care of the situation and call me back that night.

Don called me back that night to tell me he had talked to Jerry at BG and they had located one of a handful in the country in a wholesale warehouse and it would be at my doorstep in twodays .Two days later there it was!!

I had the carb back together that night and fired up the Challenger the next day!!!

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that Barry Grant and Don bent over backwards to help me out and I'm deeply apreciative for what they have done for me and would not hesitate to purchase thier products in the future!

And Don you're the greatest!!

Lou

Maybe that's why he's always so mean to me - it costs him money to be nice.

Don, and his wife, Holley, are really super people. Anyone who misses an opportunity to meet them is losing out.

...and if it's in the first round you may change your opinion....LOL

Thanks Doug I'll pass that on to the Breakfast cook....BTW next Sunday I'll be cooking breakfast, seems "4 Barrel Holley" will be taking over the driving duties for the annual "Powder Puff Challange"...last year she was runner up and she's determined to bring home the gold this year.

Allen's car is ready to roll, just need to build a new fuel line tomorrow and we'll be heading for the track for saturdays test and tune session.

.........Tanya will be driving the Dart in the Powder Puff....after we install a 2x4 under the snap your neck off peddle.

Just to be sure your clear on this....

This Saturday is some kind of street race, swap meet and some band called the Limbo Lugnuts?

Allen and I will be there testing out the Dart and I'll be finalizing the AMX tune-up...we won't be running the Fish.

NEXT weekend is the Quick 64 on Saturday and the Powder Puff on Sunday.

Allen and I will be heading to the track tomorrow night and hope to be at the gate by about 8pm, were goona try out some brown liquor and steaks to see if they go together. Holley will be staying home and this trip to catch up on some housework, mow the lawn and wash the cars.....I have to go to the track and tune race cars...life is such a bitch.

Just found out that Doug(II)'s Bronze Star award ceremony is on 10/4, at the White House. Dubya is awarding about 20 medals that day. I'm trying to put together a trip for the family to be there. I'm trying to do that with no money - I will find a way to do it.

When I really, positively, absolutely need it, somehow, the Lord provides.
