Default M1 2bbl intake installed and 4.10/s next

Well I broke down and installed my m1 2bbl intake. Im impressed with the throttle response. It pulls the front end of the truck up like its about to break traction. I don't know yet if it pulls as hard as it did with the stock intake. It's hard to tell. I'll tell you one thing, when you stomp it , it sounds like you have a four barrel quadra jet carb under the hood. It moans real good.
My next project is 4.10 gears
next week!!!

Default MOAN Baby MOAN!!

That's what I like about the M-1. You'll be able to tell the difference between the stock and M-1 just by revving it up. The rev is much cleaner. Didn't notice on your sig, but what air cleaner are you using?

Default Moan and die

To be honest,
It feels like ive lost power at midrange to wot.
i have a 5.2 with cam, r.rockers 1.6, mpp pcm, headers, mpp cold air intake.

It felt like the stock intake manifold produced more power but i cant really tell

That damn m1 moans like its getting maybe too much air.

What do you think?

Default Stock TB??

What throttle body are you using? I've got the 14x3 on mine now and I can tell an increase in power. Once the rain subsides tomorrow I'm putting the RAP back on and going over friday night to see how the new gears work for times on the track.

The PCM should compensate for the increase in ait from the sensors on the tb and intake. Have you given the PCM time to adjust to the intake and reset it?

I am very interested to know if it pulls as strong on bottom end with that intake as it did with the factory one. I know it deffinately helps the mid and top end.

Default Unknown, but.....

Somewhere between 60-100 miles it should start dialing itself in.
I'm having to wait for mine to adjust with the new gears. I reset mine after getting them installed.

Default Low End

I'd say mine is about the same if not just a tad more than stock. It's alot better now that I have the gears to make everything work as they should. mid and top end are DEFINITELY better!!

Now on to the cam!

Starbandit, why do you take your "RAP" off? I was going to do my homeade cold air with the 2 reactive filters like you. Why you remove it and put it back on when ever? Thanks

Default RAP

I left it off after I installed the M-1 to see how it did with just a 14x3. Plus afterwards I didn't want the service dept at Dodge damaging my vent tubes when they had to replace the tv cable. With everything working again, it's time to put it back on, but IT'S POURING RAIN!!!!! See www.rlandon.com for my local web site with live pic's and weather!

Biggrin Be prepared for too much fun!

moparpartsman,

Keep giving us reports on how everything is coming together. By next week, but before you put in the 4.10 gears give us another report on your low end, mid, & high end. I bet your report will be more positive.

When you get the 4.10 gear in you might want to control yourself (if I can do it, so can you) do an easy break in of your new gear for 500 miles like as recommended by Randy's Ring & Pinion
(http://www.ring-pinion.com/t-newgear.html).

Then disconnect your battery for 1/2 hour to reset your PCM and take your Ram for a fun drive. Be sure to do this in good weather with a full tank of premium gasoline because you want the PCM to learn how to drive your Ram in the maximum fun mode. Also, please be carefull not to get a ticket at this time.

When you need to fill up your gas tank again you will also know it is time to make another full report here in RamChat.
