Default remember "Mickey" ? 528 crate HEMI installed !

I still here from Mickey from time to time - he hasn't had time to post for a while

Old timers at Moparchat may remember him from before we actually had a RAM room

anyway -he told me about a week ago, he had the 528 crate Hemi / 610 Horsepower motor installed in his RAM

he says its a REAL screamer now.

I'm hoping he will send some pics.

for those of you who dont have a Mopar performance catalog - this engine costs close to $13,000.

Wink Ummh Hemi

I am currently working on laying the groung work for a project Ram. I plan to install a Hemi Engine in a 96-2000 Ram truck. I have worked out most of the problems. But, I am using the same Fuel Management system as I currently use on my '98 Ram.

$ 13,000 for a new Hemi Create huh??

Biggrin

That damn motor has really got to be shoe-horned in there. I know its tight with a 440, but damn a 528. Thats a monster. Would like to see pics of that.

Biggrin I think...

I remember correctly. The first round of emission legislation which came out arround 1979 through 1983, stated that you could place an older style motor in an newer modwl vehicle. But it must meet the newer emission standards. You could not delete emission related components, ie.. fuel injection.

Case in point. You could put a 396 Big block in a post '90 camaro but it had to meet emissions for that year car and retain the basic components. You can't put a carb on it. It had to be fuel injetced.

You could put a new Gen 2 small block Chevy in a pre '70 car and it would not have any emission restrictions.

If I remember correctly, Mikey's last post with his performance numbers for his "built" 5.9 had him in the low 14's. He had Dick Landy do most of his engine work. I can only imagine what that beast will do now. Hope we get some pics.............he was the one that coined the phrase....."Did I mention that it is Red?" Here is a link to an old thread with his truck's description:

Check out the link and look at the description of his truck, Ng. He had some serious bucks in it back then.
