Unhappy Ok, my passenger floor has turned into "Lake Indy Ram" HELP! How to fix?

Ok, here in good old Indiana we have been getting rain for just about the last 3 weeks straight. Well, this weekend we got 3 solid days of it (for the most part), and I didnt drive my truck all weekend, until today. I get in the passenger side to get something, and there is standing water on the floor! So what could have caused this? and how the heck do I fix it???? Ive heard of problems with the A/C evaporator box???

Thanks for any help you guys can provide me!!

Clay

Im pretty sure its not the back window, or 3rd brake light, as the back of the cab is dry. Its just the passenger floor.

My overhead third brakelight leaked at the gasket and the trickle of water soaked the felt underneath the carpet underneath the passenger side.

Nothing at the back of the truck looked wet when this happened but it was the gasket. The water runs down behind the rear metal wall. It apparently started after a vehicle inspection guy offered to change the light bulb in the third brake light housing and broke the original factory seal.

This is such a common problem that there is a TSB and Chrysler came out with a revised gasket for the light fixture.

These TSB's are worth looking at:

http://dodgeram.org/tech/tsb/1997/23_27_97.htm

http://dodgeram.org/tech/tsb/1997/23_68_97.htm

This TSB is not online on Fritz's website but might apply:

TSB 24-12-96
Mexico built VIN 0201XX through 0628XX Rams
- Water may drain out of the floor A/C outlet

Thanks again! Great info! Ill probably make a trip to my dodge dealer to get a copy of the one TSB, but my truck was built in Warren, MI, so that might eliminate me.

if you haven't fixed it yet, check to see if in fact it is only water and not antifreeze. It could be your heater core leaking. Or, could be something as simple as a grommet that has fallen out. My sister used to have a beretta that leaked water and it turned out to just be a grommet that neeed reseating. Good luck.

IF YOU HAVENT FIXED THIS PROBLEM YET AND DID NOT WANT TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER YOU MIGHT HAVE A BUDDIE RUN A WATER HOSE OVER YOU RIG WITH YOU SITTING IN IT. ITS MIGHT BE A CHEAP FIX. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the info! I think I *might* have figured it out. My driveway is right new to a bunch of pine trees, and you know pine trees like to "shead" their dead needles. I think I might have to many needles down inside the evaporator box, plugging the drain. Ive got the dig in a bit furthur and see if it is plugged up under there.

My truck was leaking all over too. It was leaking from the 3rd brake light and from the rear window. So i had the brake light shaved off and replace the rear window if a new one. But now its leaking from the damn A/C so i have to get that fixed
