Which Shocks????
Hi guys, I need a bit of help. I am in the market for some new shocks for the Ram. It is a 2001 2500 V10 4X4 Quad Cab. A couple of choices I am considering are Rancho 9000's and Edelbrock IAS's, but I am open to other suggestions. I use truck 99% of the time with no load. I only drive on the pavement, so offroad concerns do not apply. I occasionally tow my boat or utility trailer. The ride has gotten progressivly worse since I bought the truck new last year. It only has 17,000 miles on it, but I have read of others with bad shocks this early on. Even on the highway, she is awful bouncy. I understand it is a 2500, but I imagine that some quality aftermarket shocks will help. Any experiences and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You might want to take a look at Bilstein.

shocks for 2500
Silver V10 -
I have a 2500HD 4x4 V10 ('97) ext. cab, long box with the trailer tow package and camper special package (1 ton springs and axles) and I went with the Edlebrock IAS shocks and have been very pleased with them. On road ride is firm, but not harsh and cornering is improved. Regardless of which ones you decide on, try to stick with the mono-tube design (more expensive, but a better quality shock). |
